Mr Good Says:

Vibes Cafe has recently introduced value breakfast sets! There is the toast set at S$5++ that comes with 2 soft boiled eggs and kopi/teh; and the S$8++ noodle set with choice of mee siam/mee rebus/laksa/prawn noodles & kopi/teh. We will be trying out the breakfast sets soon.
UPDATE (01 Apr 2019)So we quickly became regulars at this cafe. After our initial disappointment with their laksa and local kopi, we steered cleared of the local food (except for prata) and mainly tried western dishes like the Pan Fried Salmon, Grilled Chicken and breakfast items. So far so good. Breads and western dishes are definitely Vibes Cafe's forte. Sauces are particularly well done.

Pan Fried Salmon came with crispy skin and moist flesh while the Grilled Chicken boosts juicy meat with a lovely herb marinate.

And to be honest, their prata with curry chicken though expensive, was delicious too. I enjoyed dipping the crispy and non-oily oven baked prata in the Chinese style curry, which was very flavourful.
We also had a go at their espresso based coffee and found it to be as unimpressive as their local kopi.
Vibes Cafe has a very inviting space that beckons passers-by to pause and take a look. Walking past, Ms Teatime and I were charmed by its friendly vibes and high ceiling. Thus, we decided to stop for breakfast.

Bright and spacious, the cafe is housed within QCD Technology Westgate Branch (an Apple Authorised Service Provider), an unusual but brilliant combination. Having a cuppa while waiting for service will definitely make waiting more tolerable! That said, this cafe is also opened to the public.
As it looks very modern, we had expected to find only Western food but were pleasantly surprised to see a small but comprehensive menu that offers a little of everything (local, western and all day breakfast). Price point is a little on the high side (plus they charge for service and gst), especially for the local food.

We were impressed by their mushroom soup and bread roll but less so with the laksa and local Kopi. Laksa was served with half an egg, frozen prawns (kind of disappointing) and tau pok that has yet to be simmered in the gravy enough. Kopi-C was milder than what we prefer. On our next visit, we will probably choose espresso based coffee and western offerings over local ones.
The service staff was pleasant but considering that I had to order and pay at the counter, I am not sure I should be paying for 10% service charge. Mr Bargain Hunter will probably shake his head and turn away from here! But since Ms Teatime and I enjoy the food and ambience so much, we will still come back.
