Reviews By Mr. Good

Read the food reviews by Mr. Good. He likes to eat and cannot resist spicy and fried foods like Laksa, Char Kway Teow and Fried Chicken. However, he makes adjustments to his choices (go for less salt, less oil, more greens and more wholegrains) to achieve a healthier diet.

The Halia @Singapore Botanic Gardens
For a short escape, visit The Halia at the Singapore Botanic Gardens for a slow and relaxing meal. Opt for their outdoor seating for the best holiday feel. Surrounded by an abundance of greenery, the hut-like dining room exudes rustic Bali vibes, which is charming under the sun rays and idyllic on a rainy afternoon. Halia is halal certified and features ginger as an ingredient in many of their food and drinks. Kids Menu (without ginger) is available!
Hajime @myVillage
If you love Tonkatsu, give Hajime a try. With the chef's dedication to serve only Niigata rice, Japanese air flown pork and house special Tonjiru soup, expect your taste buds to be satisfied. If Tonkatsu is not your thing, Hajime also serves ramen, Japanese dons and curries.
House of AnLi Bistro @Tanglin Mall
Looking for a less crowded place to dine while in Orchard Road? Head to the House of AnLi furniture shop on level 3 of Tanglin Mall and you will find a bright and tastefully decorated bistro - House of AnLi Bistro hidden within. Fitted with floor-to-ceiling bay windows to offer you a relaxing greenery view, this space is both inviting and tranquil. Food is unpretentious and delicious; there are vegan, gluten-free and keto options and service is on point. The only thing that isn't awesome here is the short operating hours, so check the hours before heading down.
Balance Coffee @Balestier
Balance Coffee, located on the street level of VIIO@Balestier next to Zhongshan Mall serves quality local and espresso based coffees at one of the cheapest prices you will find in a cafe. For food, simple bakes and a small menu of Asian and Western dishes are available. We have tried their teriyaki chicken sandwich and love it! Oh ya, for tea lovers, you can also find Taiwan Milk Tea, Yuan Yang, Hong Kong Milk Tea and Iced Lemon Tea here.
Loaf @Bukit Timah Shopping Centre
[Temporarily Closed] Loaf is located in the basement level of Bukit Timah Shopping Centre (not to be confused with Bukit Timah Plaza). Loaf has a small menu consisting of only Laksa (no cockles), Mee Rebus, a special of the day, toasts and drinks. If you are one of those who don't mind laksa without cockles, I highly recommend Loaf's laksa. The aromatic laksa is served piping hot with beansprouts, hard boiled egg, tau pok (bean curd puff) and fried tau kee (beancurd skin with fish cake filling). Laksa with fried items is just a perfect match! Bonus points goes to the young owners, who are very warm and welcoming.
RedRing Treasures
For Cutlet Noodles/Rice. Chicken, Fish and Squid Options Are Available.
