Hotel Review

Recently, I was invited for a hotel tour at the newly opened heritage boutique hotel Aqueen Hotel Little India. Aqueen Hotel Little India is the sixth and latest addition to the Aqueen Hotel Singapore Family.

Aqueen Hotel Little India on serene Belilios Lane

Taking over the 3-storey shophouse building of the former Tekka Hotel, Aqueen Hotel Little India sits on the serene Belilios Lane, amidst Singapore’s bustling Little India. This location makes Aqueen Hotel Little India both a cosy retreat for guests who are keen to explore the culturally rich Little India and a affordable hotel option that’s near Singapore’s Orchard Road Shopping Belt, Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay.

Handicap Friendly Room

Each of the 68 rooms here are decorated with a modern East Indian theme and equipped with either a Queen or Twin Quintessential by Aqueen (TM) King Koil mattress, luxurious mattress topper, flat screen TV, standing shower, in-room safe, mini fridge, complimentary high speed internet access and coffee/tea making facilities. Handicap-friendly rooms are also available.

Family Triple Room

There are 5 room categories in Aqueen Hotel Little India - Cozy, Comfy, Family (Triple/Roomy), Courtyard and a Suite. Cozy and Comfy rooms sleeps 2 each while Family Triple sleeps 3 and Family Roomy sleeps 5.

Sneak Preview of Rooms with Courtyard

Each Courtyard room (not released for booking yet) is also meant for 2 but opens out to an outdoor area. The layout is very similar to the Porch Rooms at Naumi Liora Hotel (Keong Saik Road). However, Aqueen Hotel Little India is newer.

Rooms with High Ceiling

On the 3rd level, all rooms (a mixture of different room categories) comes with high-ceilings.

Currently, we do not have any information about the Suite.

While rooms in Aqueen Hotel Little India are smallish, they are well-designed and adequate for the value-conscious, especially now that there is a 34% discount off best available rate as part of their opening special. In addition, they are also offering a lucky draw for a free night stay when you book direct at www.aqueenhotels.com (until June 2018).

Being just a few months old is another bonus since the hotel premises, rooms and bathrooms are new and sparkling clean. But since this is a budget-friendly hotel, do note that some of the nice-to-haves like mini-bar, room-service menu, bathtub, ice-machine, swimming pool, gym and in-house parking are not provided.

I have not personally stayed in Aqueen Hotel Little India so I can’t comment on the breakfast quality, service standards, housekeeping and noise insulation. However, as I walked passed the rooms while on the tour, I did hear some shouting from kids in the rooms so I suspect that noise insulation may not be the best here.

If you are keen to try out Aqueen Hotel Little India after reading this review, take advantage of the Opening Promotions and book NOW (before End June 2018)! Good Luck! I hope you are one of the lucky 10 each month to win the FREE STAY!
