Ms Teatime Says:
I was back at Nipong Naepong to try their new dishes- She's Risotto and Curry Chicken Ppong. Both dishes had managed to satisfy my taste bud and I was happy to be back!

I was tempted to visit the newly opened Nipong Naepong after seeing raves on social media about their dessert pizza (Ni Pizza - Sweet Potato). My verdict? I was disappointed.

The Ni pizza - Sweet Potato arrived looking and smelling good but unfortunately the taste was mediocre. Firstly, I found the thin crusted pizza slightly doughy and not crispy enough, though that is a personal preference. The thing that I really disliked is the overpowering milky and floury taste. I also think that this pizza could do with more sweet potatoes. My dining partner agreed with my comments. But she went on to finish whatever was left of the pizza after I ate 2 slices. So who knows? You may like this.
Anyway, Nipong Naepong is afterall a Jjamppong Specialty Place instead of a Pizza or Dessert Place so I wouldn't write them off because of one dessert pizza.

For mains, we shared one Jjamppong, Cha Ppong (Spicy Level 2), a generous bowl of spicy noodle soup served with seafood, quail eggs and cabbage. Okay, so Nipong Naepong redeemed themselves with this dish!
While the seafood quality is so-so, the springy noodles were perfectly cooked and the fabulously complex spicy broth gave such a shiok kick without being unbearably fiery. In fact, it was so addictive that we finished all the soup! Best part was that I didn't feel thirsty after that, indicating the absence of MSG.
I will be back for more Ppongs!
