Can S$5 buy you a meal at a Michelin-starred restaurant? Tell you what, with S$5, I actually managed to get myself a soya sauce chicken noodle at Liao Fan Hawker Chan with change to spare!

Hawker Chan is probably the most affordable Michelin-starred restaurant in the world. I can enjoy their soya sauce chicken rice at S$3.80 and soya sauce chicken noodles for only S$4.80 with no service charge and GST chargeable! And despite the low price, food is not sloppy at all. In fact, their food standard is without a doubt befitting of their Michelin star. The noodles were well cooked with no bitter lye taste and the flavourful chicken was very tender! I couldn't nitpick about a single thing.
There are two Hawker Chan outlets and between the two, I prefer their Toa Payoh outlet where I can dine in a comfortable air-conditioned setting without needing to queue for a seat. This is certainly not the case for their Smith Street main branch.
Michelin-star, delicious food in an air-conditioned setting without queue? All for less than S$5? Now, that's definitely a bargain find not to be missed!Don't say bo jio!
