Shop/Food Review
Mr Good Says:
Ippin Cafe Bar is a food and drinks place that serves authentic Japanese meals using either frozen, canned or prepacked ingredients exclusively imported from various regions of Japan. At this point, you are understandably puzzled. Why am I promoting a cafe that uses canned food?
And the reason is this, Japanese loves canned and frozen food as they are actually the freshest; second only to just-slaughtered, just-picked or just-fished products. Contrary to our perception of canned food, Japanese canned and frozen foods are not low quality convenience products. Firstly, Japanese do not use MSG or preservatives in their canned foods. Secondly, all frozen and canned foods are packaged quickly within a few hours of harvesting each ingredient.
If you don't believe me, come visit Ippin Cafe Bar to see and taste for yourself whether these Japanese canned and frozen foods are any good?
For those who already embrace Japanese canned foods, you will be delighted to know that all main ingredients used in the dishes on Ippin's menu are also sold in the retail corners within the cafe bar; so we can replicate the dishes from Ippin Cafe Bar at home!
To keep things interesting, Ippin also updates its Japanese offerings periodically. In addition to the Japanese products it carries long term, Ippin regularly introduces unique Japanese products from different Japanese cities for limited periods so you can find a diverse range of Japanese products throughout the year here.
