How I Started Using Green Olive at Red Hill Olive Balm?
Lil Gift Cottage is a local company that retails artisan Australian products, including Green Olive at Red Hill Body Range. Knowing that I am into natural skincare, they sent me a tub of their Olive Balm to try.

According to Malvin and Michelle from Lil Gift Cottage, this olive balm can be used as a natural lip balm, treat sunburns, soothe eczema, moisturize dry skin and is safe for pregnant women. They also shared that this multi-purpose balm helped many in their family heal extremely dry skin conditions.

My heels before starting Green Olive at Red Hill Olive Balm (Top: Left Heel)

As I personally suffer from dry scaly heels but is too lazy to exfoliate (as a first time mum, I don't have time too), I decided to test the olive balm on my heels.

How Did I Test The Olive Balm?
I applied the olive balm only to my right heel so that I can compare left and right heel after usage.

Before going to sleep each night, I applied the olive balm generously on my right heel and cover both feet with socks immediately after.

After the first night, I could feel that my right heel felt smoother but there was no visible improvement. After 12 nights, I did another comparison. Why 12 nights? Because on the 12th night my baby decided to sleep early and not be cranky, leaving me some time to spare.

Comparison of my left and right heels (Top: Left Heel, No olive balm; Bottom: Right Heel, After 12 nights of Green Olive at Red Hill Olive Balm)

Above comparison shows the improvement on my right heel after just 12 nights Green Olive at Red Hill Olive Balm. I think the result speaks for itself!

What I Like About Green Olive at Red Hill Olive Balm?

Green Olive at Red Hill Olive Balm Ingredient List

The effectiveness is obviously what made me a fan of this product now. But I also like that this is a simple product with only 8 ingredients and is formulated without palm oil, parabens, laureth sulphates, artificial colours, artificial perfumes, silicones, mineral oils or urea. For a mummy with a newborn, it is important for me that the skincare products that I use are free from all these stuff because my baby often kiss or suck on my skin thereby unwittingly ingesting my skincare products. In fact, even my makeup are pure mineral powders. The only thing I dare cheat on is mascara.

Is There Anything I Dislike About Green Olive at Red Hill Olive Balm?
Well yes. The olive balm is greasy after application and takes more than 30 mins to absorb. And because I apply it to my heels, I have to wear socks after each application. I will prefer one that absorbs more quickly.

I also find the price point slightly higher at S$33.90 for 80g (last about 4 weeks for daily heel application).

Lastly, I have a love-hate relationship with the container. With a tub, I appreciate that I can easily access every last bit of the product so there is no wastage. But on the other hand, I find it a little unhygienic to dig my fingers in for more product after touching my heels. For this reason, I did not try the olive balm on baby as a diaper cream or on myself as a lip balm. It is a pity that even though this is a multi-purpose balm, I still need more than one tub of product for different usage unless I use an applicator instead of fingers to get the product. Unfortunately, I already used my fingers; too late for applicators!

Will I Buy The Green Olive at Red Hill Olive Balm After The Sample Runs Out?
Yes! It is slightly pricey but considering the result and natural formulation, I will buy another tub. And since I have a promo code to take 10% off, I also intend to purchase one as a gift for a friend.
