EhBuzz – The easiest way to sniff out what’s new, trendy and delicious
As a food blogger, I need to share new and interesting content on my blog and social media regularly so I have to constantly hunt for food to try. Apart from media tastings and recommendations from friends, how do I know where to find good food, trend food and new eateries?
There is no short cut, I do research!
I have used many different platforms for research but by far EhBuzz is the easiest and most fun to use. On EhBuzz, I will click Buzzes (food recommendations) and browse through the food pictures. When a food picture catches my eye, I can just click on it to find the location, price range and food reviews. If reviews are positive, I will go eat it!
Using EhBuzz to research a specific eatery is also very easy. On EhBuzz, I will click Outlets and search for the shop name. I can then click on the shop to see all the Buzzes and Reviews associated with the shop.
Now, if only EhBuzz allow us to bookmark food and eateries, it will be a perfect platform!
[Update (05 July 2017): The last I checked, they have added the bookmark feature! Yay, they are now perfect!!]
What is EhBuzz?
EhBuzz, the new kid online, is set up as a one stop lifestyle portal for Food (Gourmet), Beauty and Fashion trends. However, currently only the food portal is active. Having used EhBuzz (Gourmet) for a month now, I can best summarize it as a child born of Instagram and Hungrygowhere. But while Ehbuzz (Gourmet) takes its genes from Instagram and Hungrygowhere, it also bears a slight resemblance to Pokemongo. So EhBuzz is the best of three worlds!
Similarities to Instagram
Like Instagram, EhBuzz is a photo sharing platform, has a follower and following system and allows us to like other users’ photos. It also allows us to share buzzes and outlets to Facebook easily via their share buttons.
While we create posts on Instagram, on EhBuzz, we add outlets (eateries), buzzes (food recommendations) and reviews. Each buzz is created under an outlet and reviews are added specifically for each buzz. So when I want to see the reviews of a specific buzz (food item) at an outlet (eatery), I will not have to go through all the food reviews for that outlet (eatery).
Similarities to Hungrygowhere
Like Hungrygowhere, EhBuzz allows users to read and add reviews. Bloggers can also add a link to their blog post easily on every review. This linkage is cutely named Hunter’s Blog. For me, this is a very good feature.
Similarities to Pokemongo
To encourage users to contribute to this portal regularly, EhBuzz also incorporates a gaming element that is similar to Pokemongo. On EhBuzz, each player is called a Hunter. We can customise our Hunter profile with our own picture, add a short introduction and also include our social media links. Like Pokemon Trainers in Pokemongo, we will earn points for completing different tasks (for example add photos/buzzes/outlets/reviews or gain followers/likes) to level up. And while we earn medals in Pokemongo, Ehbuzz gives out badges. Some of the badges up for grabs are “Photo Champion”, “Idol” and “Influencer”. On top of these, we, as Hunters, are also ranked according to our levels on a Leaderboard. This serves to recognize top contributors and to spur some healthy competition among us. Currently, I am at Level 15 and am ranked No. 4 on the Leaderboard.
If you are a foodie who needs to hunt for food regularly, join me on EhBuzz now! It is easy and fun!
